About Therapy and the Therapist
I help clients navigate and heal from a range of challenges, including breaking free from dysfunctional patterns and limiting beliefs, addressing trauma and PTSD (including CPTSD), healing childhood emotional wounds, working through complex grief and loss, managing anxiety and depression, overcoming addiction, and fostering empowerment and personal growth. Additionally, I provide support for anger management and assist clientscoping with chronic pain and fibromyalgia.
My approach is client-centered and integrative, combining EMDR, Internal Family Systems, mindfulness, grounding techniques, somatic practices, nervous system regulation exercises, trauma-informed yoga, and vagus nerve stimulation. I tailor these modalities to each client’s needs, focusing on self-compassion, resilience, and sustainable change.
I work with adults aged 18-50.
Logistics of Therapy Sessions
The session is 60 minutes long.
I generally recommend clients attend sessions on a weekly basis to maintain consistency and momentum in their therapeutic progress. However, the frequency of sessions ultimately depends on each client’s availability, financial considerations, and the time they can commit to therapy.
I offer sessions both online and in-person.
Cancellation policy
Clients must provide at least 24 hours' notice if they wish to cancel a session. Cancellations made without sufficient notice, as well as no-shows, will be charged the full session fee, except in cases of emergency or unavoidable circumstances
Confidentiality and Privacy
All information shared in therapy will be kept confidential. Any details discussed may be shared with my supervisor or in peer supervision, but all identifying information, such as gender and profession, will be removed to ensure confidentiality.
I will only share information about a client’s case if there is a risk of harm to themselves or others.
What to Expect
In a typical session, we explore the client's concerns, identify underlying patterns, and work collaboratively using various therapeutic techniques to foster healing and personal growth. The session may include discussion, mindfulness exercises, vagus nerve stimulation exercises and grounding techniques depending on the client's needs.
The duration of therapy varies depending on the individual and their specific needs. Some clients may experience significant progress in a few sessions, while others may require longer-term support.
Therapy is working when you begin to notice positive changes in your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. This may include a greater sense of self-awareness, improved coping strategies, reduced distress, and progress toward your personal goals.
Concerns and Misconceptions
Therapy offers a safe, professional space where a trained therapist provides objective support and evidence-based techniques, focusing solely on your needs, unlike conversations with friends or family, which can involve emotional biases and personal dynamics.
